Vaccinate against only those diseases that your kitten will realistically come in contact with. Speak with your family veterinarian to determine the prominent diseases in your area that should be part of the initial and ongoing vaccine series. It has been clinically proven that vaccines can cause cancer in cats. Ask your veterinarian to spread out the vaccines as much as possible and always insist upon vaccinating for one disease at a time. Keep a record of where on the body the vaccine has been given. Ask your veterinarian to perform a titer test to check immunity before automatically giving booster shots. If the antibody level is adequate, don’t vaccinate at that visit. Let your veterinarian instruct you when you should return to re-test the antibody levels. Never give more than one vaccine at a time. For example if your cat requires both rabies and feline distemper, give the feline distemper first, then wait one month before giving the rabies.
Kittens are obligate carnivores and have high requirements for meat.
